PURPOSE The purpose of the Judah Bible Curriculum is to make Bible Literacy the hallmark of the emerging generation of Christians. The Judah Bible Curriculum is designed to help you teach your students how to study and research the Bible, extract true understanding from it, and apply Biblical principles to their own life and character. DISTINCTIVES The Judah Bible Curriculum is an entry level "Principle Approach" Bible curriculum whose distinctives are the following:
BREAK CURRICULUM DEPENDENCE The Judah Bible Curriculum will enable YOU to teach the Bible to your students. The curriculum is designed to help teacher and student break curriculum dependence and become self-educating students of the Word of God. The curriculum allows for lots of creativity in your design of the daily study. BIBLE LITERACY It is important to recognize that literacy consists of more than just the ability to read. True literacy also includes having a basis in Truth and the ability to reason from that basis to discover the answers to life's questions and apply what is read. Just knowing Bible verses and Bible stories is not sufficient as a basis in Truth. We must have understanding of the character of God, the ways of God, and His purposes in the earth and our own lives. The lack of either this basis in Truth from which to reason or the ability to reason renders our children directionless and dependent. The Judah Bible Curriculum is designed to help you build this basis by enabling you to teach your students how to research the Bible and how to understand through the Bible the hand of God in the lives of individuals and nations. Bible stories are thus set in their context of God's purpose in history, rather than presented as isolated events. The student is then taught to reason from this basis to apply Biblical principles and concepts to every area of life and to his own life personally You will teach the fundamental ideas and principles through the Bible each year. Each year, however, the students will be studying different Bible Keys - individuals, events, institutions and documents - adding to their understanding of the whole by studying the parts in detail and in context. Any version of the Scriptures is acceptable. The students will not be required to read through the whole Bible each year as part of the course. Because the Bible is the textbook, it is the teacher who decides the doctrinal flavor of Bible class. THE BIBLE IS THE TEXTBOOK Using the Judah Bible Curriculum, the BIBLE is the textbook, so the student studies the Bible itself instead of an external curriculum. This makes the Bible class much more exciting, thought provoking, discussion stimulating, and valuable. External resources are brought in to enhance the study of the Bible. The JBC Overview gives you a curriculum map for K-12. Each week in Bible class the student studies one Bible Key in depth for the whole week from the Scriptures and from other resources as applicable. BEGIN TODAY!
